Was watching a old western today and the outlaws were hiding behind square bales of hay and shooting at each other. When did the square baler come into use? Funny thing bullets won't go through a hay bale or water trough. DH |

| My favorite Far Side cartoon- 2 "settlers" behind their overturned wagon, shooting at circling Indians. Flaming arrow comes in, sets wagon on fire. One settler looks at the other and says, "They're lighting their arrows! Can they DO that?" |

| My 150 Years of IH says there were hay presses first built in the 1850'5. IH didn't get into the business until 1907 though. |

| I guess they could be pressed bales instead of square bales from a John Deere kick baler. Thanks |
