I have looked at this Cat for more then 10 years, it has set in the same place for more then that, would like to know more about it and what is the market for this unit, if I can purchase it, I would like to restore back to orginial specks, I have some pictures and will be willing to share, its location if I can get this

Do you have buckets of money burning a hole in your pocket? It's one thing if most of it works but sitting over 10 years I'd guess it would need a lot of $$$$ to get it running let alone restore it.

I have never heard of an 8B model D4--should check that. Value depends if its direct electric start or pony start---do pony and main engine run, turn over or froze--wear on tracks, rollers ,idlers and sprockets. Main clutch and steering clutch conditions--condition of hydraulics
if you are not familiar with these items perhaps and experienced Cat mechanic should examine it for you--usually you can"t go too wrong for scrap value

Sounds like it's worth about $1,500 to $2,500.

If the motor and pony motor are sound.

Then there are a lot of other things that cold be screwed up if it has been settin gthat long.

Find an old dozer man and take him with you to look at it.
