$300 is high for used unless it is just out of the box used once or twice. I have a Lincoln Pro-Mig 135 that is 120 volt and a Lincoln "tombstone" AC/DC that is 220 volt. The Pro-Mig is very handy as I can run it anywhere there is 120 volt. It is limited when I get in to heavier and thicker stock. I use the "tombstone" for the heavier stuff, but I am limited to having it in the shop where I have 220 volt to run it. Those two welders (or similar) will cover most repair or build jobs around the farm. DC makes a very nice weld with low spatter.

Check out CraigsList. It won't take you long to find a name brand 120v welder for $100-150. If you need one right away that isn't a terrible price, but you can buy a new one for $700ish.

I think it runs on 20 amp/ 120 volt circuit. Nice welder for small jobs.

I have a Lincoln SP 100 MIG welder. It is a very cool welder. I use it most every weekend.
