I have a few New Briton tools, from NAPA. I recently asked about warrenty, and my local NAPA said they would still warrent them. I presumed that would be replaceing with whatever they sell now.

| | Here ya go. Tom New Britain Machine Company was a tool company that was headquartered in New Britain, Connecticut. The company started to sell sockets and drive tools. New Britain was the main supplier for NAPA tools until its closure in 1990. New Britain Machine owned Husky and Blackhawk tools as well as making its own economy-grade tools under the None Better and Mustang names.[1] New Britain Machine was then acquired by the Litton Tool Company on December 22, 1972. |

Just do a Google search on "New Britan Tools". You will get a whole page of links, and a lot of information. If anyone collects these tools, it is a "must read".

New Britian tools were part of the New Britian machine tool company. I worked on New Britian machines 30+ years ago. They went out of business about 1982?. Our plant bought the last machines they ever made. They went bankrupt before the machines were complete, and GM had to hire back the workers on contract to finish the machines. They were large turning machines for turning boreliners.

I still have a New Britian molding machine that I use and another that I have started to scrap out. You might have known a Tom Climp then.

IIRC, NB tools were made by a division of Litton Industries. I think they were the same tools as Blachawk.

If it"s "a hard pull", you ought to be using a breaker bar.

New Britain was the premium line from Napa, Sparta was there economy line. I have both that are over 40 years old.

I had a 1/4 set I got from NAPA over 20 years ago. Ratchet didn't make it 2 years. I bought a SK ratchet for about $15 back then and its still going.

IIRC they were a NAPA house brand. I'd guess EASCO or Stanley actually made them but I'd start at the local NAPA store for parts/service
