saw your post about bitter cucumbers and remembered a little info I read saying that you should not plant close to tomatoes and several other things, as this will make them bitter. Google this and see what you find. Good Luck. |

| I learned this trick from an old woman many years ago: cut about half an inch off the stem end, and rub that part on the rest of the cucumber. I viscous white liquid will come out. Rinse it, peel it, and enjoy a non-bitter cucumber nearly every time. |

| | must have oldtimers, I have the squash between the tomatoes and cucumbers so there is about 5 to 6 feet between them. they have gotten better,, could not eat them at first. frank |
