John Deere Chainsaw Any Collector Value or just Use?

I have an older Deere 70V chain saw in pretty good shape, hasn"t seen much use(sits around alot) Don"t know if it has any collector value or ??? It is an Echo that Deere re-badged, 70 cc and 20" bar.
 
No inherit value that I know of. List it for sale for 200 dollars/ best offer and see if anybody bites. There might be somebody out there that has a sentimental value to one as maybe dad or grandpa had one. You never know.
 
You sure never know about stuff with the JD name on it !

When I worked at the dealer in the late 80's they had some and couldn't sell them. Got broke into one night and they got stolen. Likely the best thing for the owners as I imagine they got insurance money on them.
 
If you have a JD made by Echo, you have a good one. After JD bought Homelight from the helicopter people their saws were Homelight saws painted green. JohnDeere finished destroying Homelight.
 
Sorry, couldn't think of their name, it's Textron. They lowered the quality and milked the brand, sold it to JD who finished destroying Homelite
 
Nobody knows what will be considered "collectable" 20-30 years from now. But at present, the only Deere-Echo I know of that is sought after is the two-cylinder model.

Deere has a history of selling pretty crappy saws. Echo was the best of the bunch. Homelite the worst, and Remington in the middle.
 
I've got a 70V. It was made in Japan by Kioritz (Kioritz also built some Echo saws).

Doubt the 70V has much collector value. It is however a decent "working" saw. It's a bit heavy for its size. But cuts well and has been reliable.

Incidentally I acquired my 70V from the side of the road on trash day. It had been tossed due to a worn out sprocket I replaced the sprocket (about $15) and wound up with a decent saw.
 
Echo is the American division of Kioritz Corp. Ergo all Echos are made by Kioritz Corp.
