Our local wal mart has 2500 psi power washer for $290.00 i just want to know the good or bad. Need one to clean stock trailer and machinery. Tractors etc.Or should i look for a better one. Thanks for your help.

Take this from a guy that owns and has been around commercial grade washers for over 20 years, but I'd say the ONLY good thing about the CH unit you reference is the $290 price tag.

You would be better off going to a place like northern tools and buying a middle of the road priced pressure washer. Walmart only purchases the cheapest priced pressure washer and the pumps have a very short lifespan. You may spend a little more by upgrading but it will last a lot longer.

I have one that has a 6 horse briggs motor. Have had it for 10 years and it works great! I say go for it. Of corse everyone tells you to buy the top of the line because its not their money your spending!!

I also bought one of the Ch units with the 6 hp engine about 10 years ago, and it has really been a good rig for homeowner use. Though i do not think the ones WalMart sells now are nearly as good.

I have a Devilbis with a 4 hp Honda motor, used it moderately for about 5yrs,had it 15yrs.It still works as well now as it did when bought at Sam's club.It has a Cat pump, like most do.I.ve used it days at a time, washing houses and sidewalks, paid for itself on first job.Changed oil often, other than that,no repairs necessary, never even changed spark plug.Unless you're planning to start a business with it,those CH units are a good unit.I've even used an electric washer, and it worked well.---lha

I have one. No problems other than a leaky gas tank which I can't seem to fix, but it only leaks for awhile after filling.

The big drawback is that you are pretty much limited to whatever nozzle comes on the wand. It is not set up to accomodate interchangeable nozzles.

whatever one you get make SURE the water is in befor you start it ir plug it in I have seen more of these small power washers fail because the pumps were run dry. they do not last long at all if run dry

I used to do warranty work for campbell hausfeld
the horizontal shaft pumps are not too bad but the vertical shaft ones pump directly under engine if they make it out of warranty period you are lucky.

You NEED to look at the flow rate too not just PSI as this = cleaning power.

Get a Hotsy and be done with it. Having endless supply of hot water really helps the cleaning process.

I guess you know what you need but I have a washer that doesn't get used. Basically have to park something over in the south 40 to keep from getting crud blown all over the place which is then too far for a hose. And that baked on grease really needs some hot water behind it. I've heard of people running a hose to the hot water heater but then involves dragging long hoses around.

Check how good the soap dispenser works so you can go to soap and rinse easy. As I recall on that Karcher I have, there was no adjustment and it went through a quart of soap before I was halfway around my pickup. Between that and cold water not really taking the grit off, I ended up at the car wash which is also what I do with the stock trailer every once in a while.

Maybe the other guys around here have better luck with them.
