will older 16 inch dodge pickup wheels fit newer 2006 wit 17 inch wheels?

As long as they are the same bolt pattern they should work. I have never personally tried from 16 to 17 inch rims, but I do know that 16s from 1979-2002 will interchange. I would not think that they would change the bolt pattern for one inch but you never know.

That was the only reason to make the move from 16" to 17", to get clearance on the larger brakes.

I don't know about 94-02, but pre-94 won't. They have a lot more backspace.

I haven't tried any 16" wheels on my truck but the dealer's mechanic swears that they have tried them and they won't work because of the size of the rotor and caliper.

NO they wont work, newer ones have a metric bolt pattern. Most of the Dodges with front and rear disk brakes must have the 17 inch rims to clear the brake calipers.

Thanks. Have good set of 16 in tires a buddy wanted for his 05. Now he wont have to find 16 in whls.
