I recently purchased my 240 compressor and love this thing. I have been researching and reading on the Quincy products and several searches have led me to this forum. Thanks for the great reading and information.
I bucked up and called Quincy this afternoon to see what I could learn about my compressor and thought I'd pass it on just incase someone has one like it. Quincy's people are very informative and helpful. They sure didn't mind answering a few questions.
Okay: my model 240-10 was released beginning 12/4/1968. They still make this model today. I timed my compressor from 0-115 psi last night and it took 3 minutes and 25 seconds to fill and shutoff on my 70 gallon tank. Quincy did the math with the 5 hp 220v baldor turning at 650 -675 rpm and said it should take 3.5 minutes. So my new (Annabell) compressor must be in great shape.
Quincy emailed me a parts list, instruction and tear/down rebuild manual for my model.
When I first got the compressor home and setup it was shutting off at 125 psi. I turned it down to 115 psi. Now after all the reading I may need to turn it down to 100 psi. I emailed Quincy and asked them about the pressure and also the previous owner said he had been using 10-30 motor oil. I also asked Quincy in my email if this was okay.
Okay, sorry for such a long post (1st one too).... I am just excited to own this beast... oops beastette (Annabell)
