Interested in buying a used Speedway Drill Press model AFDMV. Would someone who owns one please share some user comments? Just need one for the shop.

I don't own one but if you can check it out run the quil down about 2", grab the chuck & see if it moves sideways. Most of the off brands (& some of the name brands) are pretty sloppy when the quil is not at full retract.

Thanks Vern, according to the owner he has not used it much. Like you said it is an off brand made in China but I think most units that I can afford will be made overseas. I was in hopes of finding an older USA made drill press in good condition. Thanks again for your advice! Tony

I have one, ok for home use, but strictly VERY light duty. motor is so small it will stall in almost anything.
