As luck would have it, a pipeliner with his truck came out to my track today. He had a 2006 200D on his truck and also owns a 1958 SA200. He even said his old machine welds nicer than the new one, all he has to do is put a rod in the stinger and it practically welds by itself. LoL He borrowed me a stinger and a ground and I tried my new machine out. It does indeed weld very nice. The biggest rods he had were 3/16" 7018 but it burned those real nice. He tried my machine and said it compares to his 58. With the amps set to max, the engine has no smoke at all and runs really strong and smooth! Only needed 4th gear to burn the 3/16" hot enough though. You have to wait a second for the idler but not bad at all. He figures I got a super deal and said to let him know if I ever want to sell it! Sometimes, although rare, when you go with your instincts it pays off. He also gave me about 20 lbs. of rods since the company supplies them to him. Now I just need the weather to stay nice so I can start fixing things. Dave
