I notice the other day at TSC. Some of the 3 pt. equipment has a different name on it instead of the famillar King Kutter brand. Did King kutter get bought out by someone else? Or is this a new house brand for TSC? Well my next question I am considering buy a 5 or 6ft. 3 pt.hitch tiller are the King kutter tiller's any good? are there any problems with them? thanks Dave F.

No, King Kutter still exists. They have a website that I just googled a week ago. I think their website also lists their dealers too, if I'm not mistaken. Can't tell you if their tillers are dependable or not though, aint got one. I did learn something though about TSC, aint the cheapest in prices in at least all things. I live in northern Indiana about midstate on the Michigan border. Got a Deere guy right near me, and a couple of TSC's within like 20 miles in 3 different directions for smaller stuff. But I also mostly work in Illinois during the week and they've got Blains Farm and Fleet too. Blains is in Wisconsin and Iowa too according to their website. I was looking for a 3pt seeder/spreader for the back of my AC-B and a couple of years ago a King Kutter went for about $350 at TSC, now about $450. For a few more days Blains have the same model on sale for about $350, then go back to regular price of about $400. In a day or so, Blains will have mine in and I'll load it up and take it back home with me. $100 or even $50 is still worth the extra 1/2 drive out of the way. And back home TSC is a good 1/2 hour out of the way too, so time's a wash.

Anyway, good luck.

Mark

I have a 6 foot KK that I pull with a Ford 3000 diesel and it's a good combination. The KK was the best bang for the buck when I was shoping and would buy one again.

King Kutter looks like they have got a good tiller but I bought a counter rotating 52 in Woods this spring because of local dealer. I think the King Kutters have gear drive where my Woods has chain. Don't know which is best. I pull mine with a JD750 18-20 hp. It does just fine. Can't get everything done here, It just keeps raining and raining. Borrowed a friends tiller with a shear bolt, you definitely want a slip clutch.

Have you looked at the Woods brand tillers. I had one and it seemed pretty well built. Not much more money than the TSC ones.

have one and it's about 6 years old dose about 50 acres a year and is doing good. make sure you have a tractor with a real low gear and for a 6 ft. you better have 50 hp or better
