Never ran a Bachtold, but I did run a similar one 40 years ago. It was a lot of fun when the blade broke off next tot the shaft (no safety features). The handles nearly beat me to death before I got it shut off.

The mower was located in Minnesota until I moved it up to my country place in Wisconsin over the weekend. The remarks made by "jokers" made me decide to keep it myself. I sure wouldn't want to take advantage of some poor unsuspecting soul on this forum.

Gee..... I almost feel bad that I called you out on your benevolence and then you crawled back into your snake hole with your obsolete and unsupported mower "that someone might have wanted in the worst way".

No, I don`t really feel bad. If you were offering a good deal out of the goodness of your heart you wouldn`t have been so sensitive to my observation because there wouldn`t have been any truth to it.

Well, look who crawled back out from under his rock to speak again of which he has no knowledge. Please, tell us more about what makes my mower (which you have never seen) "obsolete and unsupported" (and what does that even mean anyway?).

Did someone say you should "really feel bad"? Did I ever say I was "offering a good deal out of the goodness" of my heart? I think I simply asked if someone was in the market for a new machine that is no longer available on the market today. You must have a degree in pyschology which allows you to make these trained and brilliant "observations" . Do you wear a special outfit with skintights when you do your duty to protect the readers on this forum from the likes of me? Could you post a photo?

HAHAHA! You`re a regular tough guy behind a keyboard Ten-Twenty but you`ve got passive aggressive written all over you.

Your mower is obsolete because it is no longer being produced by the manufacturer purportedly due to safety issues. If the manufacturer no longer makes them, who is going to support a small run piece of equipment?

Speaking of crawling out from under rocks, where do you hide out? I went back 10 pages on this forum and I haven`t seen any other posts by you. Did you come here just to sell something?

It doesn`t take any special skill to read between the lines with your earlier posts stating that you thought you could sell this mower to someone who DESPERATELY wants one, especially since I`ve seen plenty of scams, you`re hardly the first one.

If you knew what you think you know, you would understand that a lawsuit forced Bachtold out of business (someone trying to use a walk-behind brush cutter to trim the top of a hedge, I understand). No support? Call Midwest Manufacturing at the number that I provided for JT in the thread (but you would already know all of this if you had read through the thread before you started your personal attacks) and you will discover that parts. manuals, etc. are readily available.

Gosh, I did not realize that one must have seniority on this forum to post here (wow, you must really be into this game you are playing to go back ten pages to check up on me). Check your facts, you started the name calling and then you call me "passive-agressive". Read the entire thread again. You have no basis for the accusations you have made and are simply doing, behind the anonimity of the Internet, what I suspect you would not do if we were face to face. So, put on your tights and cape and find someone else to harass. Ten-Twenty has left the building.

Are they still in business? They had safety problems, and gave out a free deadman control for the machine. Have a 95 model, labled by D & R, that with its eight horse briggs and stratton engine , has been one of the best pieces of equipment I have ever bought. Still used and working good, on tall grass and weeds. Even installed a plastic sleeve they sold, to keep the grass from wrapping around the shaft. Only complaint is its slowness, but its does its job 100 ;percent. What year and engine, and price are you asking? Thanks, also location.

Yes, they are still in business and they are still selling the Bachtold mowers, they sell for about $14-1500.00 with a Briggs engine. They have made them safer by putting a operator presence on the handle and putting a heavy steel cover over the blade and have dropped down to a 24" from thoriginal 26" blade. Their website is www.bachtoldbros.com if you want to see about them.

There is some confusion. I just spoke with the folks at Midwest Manufacturing (they handle the Bachtold parts business) and they assured me once again that Bachtold Brothers has been disolved and the mowers are no longer being produced.

If you go their web site, it shows them still being available. Now, you are right, it is no longer Bachtold bros, it is Midwest manufacturing, and as I said, the web site still shows them available. don't know.

Here is the number for Midwest Manufacturing, Inc.:

1-877-784-5161

Give them a call to see for yourself if the mowers are still being produced and sold.

No, they are no longer in business. I happened upon a Model 800 (last year of production for that model) that I thought I might make available to someone that wanted one in the worst way. It is located in Minnesota.

"I happened upon a Model 800 (last year of production for that model) that I thought I might make available to someone that wanted one in the worst way."
In other words you want to sell it to someone who will pay you an outrageous sum for it.

How very benevolent of you, thanks for thinking of everyone here.

No, I was thinking that maybe someone would want an opportunity to buy a NEW Bachtold since they just do not exist anymore. I never mentioned a price now did I? Where do you get off determining what I was thinking? You do not know me nor my intentions. Crawl back under your rock.
