Hercules jxd help.

I recently acquired a 1947 lincoln sae-300 welder with a hercules jxd engine. Ended up having no rods or pistons. Could anyone help with some info on what tractors these engines were commonly put in?

If Zimmerman can't help, or you find other problems with your JXD, you may not know that when the JXD was announced Herc stated the then JX 6cyl series (JXA,JXA2,JXB,JXC,JXD) were all made to the same exterior and motor mount dimensions, so owners could upgrade to more power or downgrade for more economy...
Smaller engine, of course, may not be acceptable on your welder...
They were one of Herc's popular truck engine series so old truck sites would be a good place to look for info...
Bores climb from 33/8 to the JXD 4", BUT drop back for JXE etc; nor do I know if JXE, JXF, JXG, JXL made to the JXA-D dimensions...
There's also a JX4 4cyl series that're sometimes confused with the 6s...

These trucks list Herc as an engine option.
