2-53 Detroit Starter

I have a 2-53 Detroit that didn't have a starter when I bought it at an auction. What starter does it need and where can I find one? Thanks, PK.

Starters are as generic as socks and interchange . As long as there is physical space for the starter , there is no such thing as too much starter power .
Is the starter on the blower side, govenor side or on the top of the belhousing. Application ?
