1929 Briggs engine

Just acquired a 1929 Briggs engine model FI. Was wondering what you all can tell me about this engine or what it's worth. Found one on eBay that sold in 2015 for 425.00 ( I wish) and also there is a carb. For this engine on eBay now listed for 325.00 ( again I Wish). It sits on a real heavy base that once held something else, maybe a generator. Any info would really help, oh yes it does run. Thanks

That is an Onan 10-lite generator set. I have owned two of them both missing the generator. (still own one and would like to find a generator) I saw a complete set with the generator sell at auction for $500 a few years ago. I paid $100 or less for mine, both were in running shape. Its hard to put a value on this old stuff anymore, interest is getting less every year due to fewer collectors. If that were mine I would value it at $250-350 as long as the carb. is in good shape. They are made of poor pot metal and did not hold up well.

The carb on my Briggs engine is in great shape, no air breather. I gave a 100. 00 for it and got it home and found the kill button was touching the shroud and fixed that and she fired right up. I also have another unit that I recently got . It's a W W 2 signal corps generator 1941 era. Engine made by Jacobsen mfg. Co. It runs good and generator works also. You may know something about those also. Thanks for your reply. Here is a picture of the unit.
