I acquired an onan generator the only number I can find is on it is 1325 it had a flat belt pulley on it. I was hoping to run it off something but I don't know what its HP or speed requirements are or the amount of power it would produce. Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Well for starters, if it's old enough to be flat-belt driven it's likely an 1800 RPM unit. (Unless REALLY old or not a 60HZ unit.)

I guess that's a start! Any idea what direction it should rotate? Did everything turn the same way with flat belts?

There should be six numbers stamped into the frame. That is the serial number. With that I can find your information. If it is not a PTO unit it is what Onan called a two bearing generator. You have to be careful with it. Some were AC some DC output. Photos would help. If you want to email me.

There is a number 459239 under where the tag used to be. The actual tag wasn't there since ive owned it.

Does it look something like this.

Except it does have a double breaker on it and someone put a welder plug and normal outlet on it at some point

Like This. I now have something to work with. I don't believe the rotation mattered on that one. I will get the information as soon as I can. First came on the market in 1955.

This is what I have found at this time. Standard production order covers many years of production. Basic wiring print for that type of genset. Please remember these are all a guess, until I can confirm what you have. But they should be close.
