John Deere model E 11/2 hp. gas tank installation

Second attempt at installing new gas tank in John Deere model E 11/2 hp. Engine. First time I had oil leaking into the gas tank. Any tips on what sealer to use? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Mark

I have sealed tanks with sealer from KBS.

I replaced the crankcase plate and fuel tank on a model E. The parts supplier advised using 3M 8002 adhesive from the auto parts store on both crankcase and fuel tank without gaskets. It's 3 years now and still leak free.

Been there and done that more than once. I used rear end housing sealer and lots of it where the fuel line goes through the oil pan. Another thing is to rock the engine back on the flywheels and prop it up so you can get to it easily to work on.
