I just bought a 2hp fairbanks engine today and was just wondering if there is any trick to starting these engines. Thanks in advance.

Um, you will have to fill in some more information on what version of 2hp engine you area dealing with. Is it a 2hp "H"? Is it a 2hp salt block "Z"? Is it a 2hp "Z" with spoke flywheels? More info will be needed to give definite advice.

It is a z but does not have a spoked fly wheel.
