Yet another Vf4d Vh4d jug interchange question

Ok so I have seen the other threads on VH4d and Vf4d jugs NOT being compatible, but here is my situation:

I have a VF4d and a Vh4d, can I take the pistons, and heads and intake/exhaust manifolds from the VH4d and move them over to the VF4d? Has anyone out there down this and succeeded, or failed?

I have not done the interchange of parts so have not succeeded or failed.
Pistons from VH4 will work in VF4d but not the other way around due to original
VF4d pistons have a longer skirt length.
Intake/exhaust manifolds from VH4 will not fit VF4d jugs. This is a maybe, change jugs and manifolds
from VH4d to VF4d will physically fit. Heads will physically fit one from another but carry different part numbers so guess compression ratio is different or something. Valves, springs, valve guides should interchange.
Insert rods from VG4d should work in VF4d. For some reason I prefer the sound of the odd fire VF4 over the even fire VH4. Good luck

Great information guys, thank you! I'm guessing I can piece something together with my shoestring budget that might run long enough for me to enjoy it a while. If anyone's looking for used parts please let me know, I have a pretty good stash going.

I am keeping my eyes open for a half speed odd fire distributor .
Right now I am using a V8 distributor, works perfect and is driven from VH4 drive.
Alternator is a Delco 10SI driven from fan end of crank.
