The original subject was "Re: Wisconsin air cooled engine".

I made a device to screw into the plug hole using an allen wrench and an external spring to push the valve down. It had been soaking in acetone/ATF for 3 months and valves still wouldn"t go down. 10 minutes spinning the crank on each valve and they were free. Wis VH4D

I am trying to restore a VE4D Wisconsin air cooled engine SN 103543. Where can I get gaskets and the fuel pump diaphragm for this engine. I have looked on line to the best of my ability and cannot locate any parts. Thanks

Dan

There were (3) different fuel pumps used on VEFD. Since yours dates to 1941, most likely the pump is obsolete. But maybe you can get one of these:

LQ46. Repair kit for open engine (low dome)
LQ47. Repair kit for power unit (rotating dome)
LQ 30. Repair kit for obsolete pump.

I checked Google and could not find LQ30 save for an eBay listing where a NOS one sold for $58 something.

Why not get a complete pump. It would be the same as for VH4D. Current model is LP74ES1. Probably about $150.

There is a seller on eBay selling fuel pumps like you need...
