Majestic 2 hp engines

Just purchased these two majestic engines today. Both are 2 hp engines, one is complete, restored new valves, rings, mixer and cranked right up and ran great. Hasn't been cranked in a year and half.both sitting on nice carts. Not sure if they are original or not. The gray colored engine is complete but mixer, gas tank and gas line, crank guard is in a box and has not been cranked in 4 years. Has compression so it should crank. No crack, breaks,or welds found on either engine. One is a 1915 and the other is a 1916. Wondering what you guys think they are worth. Thanks for your help.

You start of this thread saying that you just bought the two engines. Then at the end you want our input of what we think they are worth. If you and the seller were agreeable to the selling/ buying price then there should be no reason to see what we think they are worth in our respective areas. Do you think you got snuckered? Or do you think you got a great deal? Why don't you tell us what you paid for them and we can let you know if you were in the standard market values for them. I see that the red one must have been on either a cement mixer or a pumping outfit originally with that gear on the inside of the flywheel. Without knowing many condition items like the bearings, gear wear, shaft wear it is really hard to give a decent value. Most engines will run with snorts and sniffs that are indication of wear in shafts and bores. With assembled carts and mostly complete I could see these selling in the $500 to $1200 range depending on who was there and condition.

Sorry I didn't put the price I paid for them but it was 1600. Total For both engines and carts. The red one runs great and the gray one is complete and has good compression. I just was wondering what these engines go for around other places. Didn't intend to get my -// chewed out for asking. Thanks for your reply.

Just by looking at them I would have given 300-400 for the none running one and 500-600 for the running engine.

Thanks Arnold, that's what I thought. Got the other one running and it runs really good. As good or better than the restored one.

I doubt those are factory carts, but I've been wrong before. The cast wheel with the circle pattern spoke would bring upwards of 150 to 200 by themselves.

I have seen wheels like that on the old feed sack two wheel carts. I have a couple laying around home here.
