I picked up a couple of old Hit and Miss engines this weekend. I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about them. One is a Fairbanks Morse "Z" engine and the other is a Montgomery Wards 11/2hp.

The FM model Z is probably from the mid-forties, it is throttle governed not hit and miss, and it was probably part of a generator set or pumping outfit. The Sattley is a bit older but I don't have a lot of info on it, any chance you have a couple more pics?
