Possibly a 5hp- Wanting to purchase this, neither party has any idea what it's worth. Ran when put away indoors 15 years ago, not stuck, on incorrect cart. Also what type of ignition does it have & how does it work ? THANKS !

Umm, there are some or I should say many questions that we would ask you. But without any photos we will be hard pressed to give a very accurate value on the engine. No original cart will effect the value a little but not much. If it is on wheels, it is a great start. Some things to look at are bearing wear / does it have any shims left in the rod or mains. How do the gears look on the crank and cam / is there much wear. What is the governor collar like / is it really sloppy on the crank or does the color slide nice and smooth / this will effect the detent latching out properly. Is there any fuels system left / gas tank there or not. What mixer / carb does it have on it and what kind is it. The ignition would be an ignitor style. But this will vary depending on age and if the engine was updated from the standard ignitor to a Webster set up. There again it depends on age of the engine. To give you a ball park value, and i will be giving a wide range, I would say that anywhere from $300 all the way up past $3000. Being that you mentioned it ran 15 years ago could mean a bunch of things. I have had and also seen many engines that were really cobbled up run. Maybe not well, but they did "run". I hope that I gave you some things to look into and help with your decision. They are nice long stroke simple engines. Have fun and don'r be afraid to ask questions 'with photos' so we can help out better.
