New Way 4.5 HP

We are working on a New Way E/C 4.5 HP vertical engine. It is all there but we don't know what to do about the oil for he crank. Do we put oil in the crank case? How much and How do you put it in OR does the oiler provide enough oil for the crank and piston. We are working without any book or much information. Thanks Darald

As a guess, I would say it needs oil in the crankcase - pretty normal for all /most engines. How much - no idea, but I would suggest that up to 1/2 of the crank diameter would be a safe start. HTH

Darald, find Harry's Old Engine website, there are many on that forum that will be able to answer your question. By the way I love seeing the New Way engines at the show's, but I don't have an answer for you. That is an engine brand on my want list.
