WISCONSIN VF4 AND VG4D compatible?

I have a VF4 powered Lincoln welder I am trying to get up and running, the motor is a basketcase, but the welding part seams ok. Does anyone know if a VG4D would work as a replacement motor for this welder? It's a SA200 Junior. Thanks

The "G" is quite a bit larger engine, but that doesn't necessarily enter into this issue.

Either engine was made with a choice MANY MANY different crankshafts based on OEM application, the diameter/length/style of the output end of the crank is going to be the determining factor as well as (probably) some mounting face and bolt pattern variations.

Have you done even a visual check to compare the output/PTO shafts of the two engines?

I will add that the VH4D engine is closer to the
VE/VF engines, but the proper crankshaft is critical.
