IHC LA Engine

Hi Everyone, I am new to small engines and to this forum. I just bought a model LA IHC engine that has not ran for a few years. I need to clean the varnish from the fuel tank and I am not getting spark from the mag. I pulled off the cover for the points and ran some emery cloth over the contacts. Still no spark. Is the condenser with the coil on this mag? Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your time, Mark.

Google Hitnmiss (Ohio I think), they have owners manual and parts manual reprints AND parts. I've got an LB and they were very helpful. HTH

Take the condenser out and clean it. Also clean where it sis in the mag and the screw that holds it in. Then see if you have fire. I have fixed several mags just by cleaning the condenser with some fine sand paper.
