Kohler Command 18hp V-Twin Question

I bought a used woods zero turn mower. It has a Kohler Command 18hp engine. I went thru the engine. Only thing it needed was a valve job, had a leaking intake valve. Valve job turned out good. Well I got the engine back together as the manual specified. It starts and runs, idles good but when it's under a load it falls on its face after a few minutes and starts to pop back thru the carb. I've checked compression and it's really good, 175 & 165. Any ideas?

Also it has solid push rods. How does the oil get to the rocker arms?

Any info from some of you that know these engines would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, John

I forgot to mention that this engine does not have the "Smart Spark" ignition system. The coils only have one primary terminal on them.

What oil are you using? The Command series engines use 10W30 engine oil due to using hydraulic valve lifters.
Popping back through carb is normally either intake valves not seating correctly or lean fuel/air mixture.
