What you have is a gas e ngine cart. I can't be sure of the brand but I think it might be a Witte brand cart. Nice save. They are a great addition for the 1 up to 3 hp engine size. Makes moving them around much easier. I can't tell from your pictures but the value depends on condition. If any spokes are cracked or even if hte bolster castings are broke can make a big difference opn value. You should be in the $100 to $250 range. The two would have been connected by wooden runners from the front axle bolster to the rear one.

Thanks for your input Kelly. I've been looking at pictures of different engine carts and haven't found any with that style handle. Of course no one takes a picture of that part! But as far as I can tell that is the most distinguishing feature. No casting marks are evident anywhere except on the handle it is cast 1889 on the lower collar. None of the wheels or castings are cracked, just some significant pitting of the axles and the rusty pipe to the handle. Either way, I had planned on getting an engine at some point so now I'll have a cart to put it on.

Yea, The front bolster and handle mounts are the telling styule of this cart. Normally the front axle mount is broken on one side. Not the greatest design. Have fun getting and engine and playing with it. It is a great hobby and full of interesting people and stories.
