Honda 5.5 Hp generator

I picked up a cheap generator with a 5.5 Honda engine. The hour meter shows 700 hours. What would a typical life be for these engines? It did seem odd that the crankcase only holds .63 quart.

Some don't hold much oil. Life depends on how well
it was taken care of. Plus what RPM it runs at.1800
will last longer than 3600 RPM units.

3600rpm 3000watt generator. Seems to run just fine. Not familiar with these engines. Would it possibly be due to adjust valve lash if it's even adjustable?

As far as I know. You can adjust all Honda valves.
Just need to look up the specs for you engine. Honda
is one of the best small engines going. Just have to
take care of them.
