Disapionted

Last evening I fired my 3-5 LB that I had rescued from being scrapped. After setting the mag I pulled it through on choke twice and it fired up and ran smooth after adjusting the fuel. After a minute it coughed and I heard a crack and it shut off with no compression. It seems the cylinder cracked into the water jacket , I haven't pulled the head to confirm this. Can it be sleeved if this is the case, I hate to have all my work go to waste? Thanks, Matt

Couldn't it be a hole in the piston? I think that's what happened to a 2-cyl Wis on my baler. Amazingly it ran on one cyl.

Matt,

Most engines can be sleeved , I did a

6 HP york engine last year 5 1/2 X 22 1/2

long cylinder. Cylinder was also cracked all

the way around , welded it then bored it ,

put sleeve in then bored sleeve in place.
