Wisconsin engine clutch

On the 40's and 50's Wisconsin engines if you had a clutch the block and crankshaft were different than that of an engine that did not have a clutch.

On today's Wisconsin's engines can you take a clutch from one engine and put it on another of the same model?

Generally, most 2 cylinder engine clutch"s will
interchange...but you need to have an engine
that"s set up for a clutch,,that is..drilled
and tapped, and the correctly machined crankshaft.
4 cylinder engine clutch"s WILL NOT fit on 2
cylinder engines, the bolt spaceing, of the
housing assembly is different.

I knew on the early 50's VE's, VF's and VP's the crankshaft and block was machined or drilled differently for a clutch.

The clutch on a VH looks different from the ones on the older models. To be more specific would the clutch from a VH4 work on another VH4 that did not come with a clutch from Wisconsin? Would the clutch from a VH4 work on a VE4?

Wisconsin Master parts book shows "Clutch Take
-off assy, for VE4, VF4, and VH4, as being
interchangable

Standard Clutch on older VE, VF, and VH was a wet Rockford type. VP, VG, V465 used Dry Twin Disc (also Rockford on early ones).
Crankshaft was different on Larger engines that used dry clutches, also, you had a bellhousing casting that bolted to the crankscase.
I think the smaller engines only used the (4) tapped holes in crankcase, the wet clutch clamped to the standard crankshaft. worst case it could be sawed off to the right length.
And the two cylinder clutches were smaller Rockford clutches than on the 4-cylinder.
