I was wondering if there was any place to help determine the value of one of these engines it doesn"t have a clutch on it just engine. not running but not stuck.
Thanks Keith

The inline Wisconsins (4s and 6s)were once fairly widely used, not as popular as Buda, Cont, Herc etc, but they apparently had a very good reputation, and were built until 1939, when the company went to all air-cooled. In a previous post I said they ended in 1929, which was a mistake on my part.
Is there a tag or any ID numbers/letters you can find? ID'ing it is the first step.
Some Wisc 4's were SU (251cid), W(267), B2(563), B3 (618), K(792) and K2(894); all Wisc inlines I have used a letter, sometimes with a number (there were probably other 4's; my sources aren't complete).

Just looked at my Wisc engine list, which I shoud've done first; I stopped counting 4's when I got to 50, but many are variations in a series. Post whatever you find in numbers/letters, or maybe a pic, in case someone might recognize it.
Like the others, they were used in trucks, tractors, eqpmt, power units; I can't say about cars.

My mistake; I just assumed a water cooled. I don"t follow the little air cooled; thought all the Wisc A/C 4"s were V"s. Live and learn.

Hi Keith, do you still have the engine and where are you from? I am looking for one and I am in Michigan

I do have one of these engines; a 4-cylinder in line and it does run. I'm in Pennsylvania.
