Battery and coil, yes. Buzz coil, no. I don"t have a wiring diagram to show you at this time. A buzz coil is used with a timer of some sort and a spark plug for ignition. A regular battery and coil is used for an ignitor engine such as a JD E.
 
Here's a link to a guy's site who built his own LT coil. Some guys simply use a LARGE starter solenoid (diesel truck engine size).

Just the PRIMARY terminals of an automotive ignition coil can be used, as well.

You don't need a diagram Stroked, just run a wire from the negative side of your six or twelve volt battery to a ground on the engine, then from the positive post to one of the screw-on primary terminals on about any old auto coil, then from the other terminal on the coil to the ignitor and it will run.
