Kohler or Kawasaki

After much test driving, I have decided to get A new Gravely 460 Zero Turn today, I will pick it up this afternoon. The dealer has offered the Kohler EFI 29 HP or the Kawasaki 31 HP at the same price. Any opinions?

We have about a 50-50 split of both makes. In the slightly older series both tie on all counts except the Kawa would get the nod for fuel economy and even then if not run all day every day it wasn't enough to talk about for very long. For me that decision would be a flip of a coin.

I have mowed my 4 acre lawn 4 times with the Gravely 460, My cuting with my 1973 Ford 2000 and 6 foot trim mower was 3 and 1/4 hours. With my Power King and 5 foot deck, mowing time was 4 and 1/4 hours. I am averaging 2 Hr and 1/4 with the Gravely. I am not used to the handling characteristics of the Zero turn and have ran into a ditch twice, Sure glad the old J D 620 with Loader picks it up.

good choice, we have had some sporadic issues with the Kawasaki DFI engines on Ferris mowers
