I have an older neighbor who has one of these motors that his father purchased to power milkers long ago. It appears to be in good condition and has been stored inside and is free. He is thinking about selling it, but does not have a clue what to ask for it. Can anyone give me an idea of what
I should tell him. He was our bus driver when my oldest brother was in the first grade, who is now seventy years old, which makes my neighbor about ninety.
Thanks.

A photo of the engine or a few will go a long ways to help determine approximate value. Initial spit ball with out seeing it a range could be from $40 up to $150. There are quite a few things to consider when looking at it. Just a few are : initial condition (is it stuck), are both valves loose so not as to break one while trying to turn it over, is the mag on it and what kind is it and it's condition, what shape is the fuel tank in, is the valve cover and hopper lid there. These items will get you in the right general direction. Just remember not to roll the engine completely over until you find out if the valves are free and will not break the rocker arm. Have fun.

If it will run as much as $4oo. If not $200 and up if it is all there and has a good gas tank and still has the valve cover. People are asking as much as $ 125 for a good metal valve cover. Might not take much to get it running. Clean the check valve in the gas tank, clean the points and the CONDENSER. Fixed several engines by removing the condenser and cleaning it with fine sand paper.

Kelly, I think a guy could sell several TRUCKLOADS of them quickly at THOSE prices!

Bob,
That is why I asked for a photo. A stuck engine missing some parts is a far cry from one that is loose and could be a runner with little or no work. I would bet that this engine will need some work. And as said if it is missing any parts the cost of resurrection could go up fast.

Not sure where you are located but I am looking for an all original engine to mate up with my grandfathers' McCormick Deering vacuum pump and milker set-up. I am located in central Indiana. Thanks
