Thanks Darald (from below). I replaced the spark plug with an Autolite 3076 ( recommended from HitnMiss) - turns out that is what was in there already. Expectantly, gave him a 'whirl' --NOTHING --dag nab it (and other epithets). Looked in the gas tank duhh!! nada. Put about 1.5l of fuel in , 2 cranks (and after turning the mixture screw down to 1/4 turn out) the sucker runs like a champ !! The throttle does not work, but knowing that it runs well, I will disassemble, fix the throttle problem, paint, apply decals (from H &M) and post 'After' pics. Bob P.S. 'Truck' has pneumatic tires ! - Also, you can't see in the pics, but there is water vapor coming out ot the lid opening.

Whoever reads this is really gonna get a kick from "what happened next ". In situ (as per pics) After I let the unit sit for 1/2 hr. or so, I drained the water and rust out of the hopper. Refilled with a solution of vinegar and water, let sit for (dinner time) a bit and re-started. Not as easy as the first, Hmmmnnn? Finally got him going again, went to the non-flywheel side to adjust the carb screw AND a chunk of Aluminum soffit with a serious hole in, fell down beside me. WTFF !! Engine not running right, shut it down. Went to the flywheel side and discovered the cranking handle missing !!! It apparently came loose, flung itself through the soffit and at this point in time is missing !! At least I know how and when to have phun ! --gonna get the ladder out and report back. b

Well, here's the damage. You can see where it dented the truss. Found the handle about 6' to the left sitting on the soffit. Glad I wasn't on the wrong side when it flew off !!

I have seen the handles fly out a few times. Very dangerous. make sure the pin is in good shape and tight. Might want to put some Loctite or something on it to help keep it in place.

Bob. Omg. Your first post is your clue. No working throttle almost cost you your life! Ill guess its way over rev'd. That little handle will be followed by some bigger heavier parts real soon!
