Witte Motor

Ok, so I have a witte motor, model b 2 hp. It was pretty well stuck (hydraulic jack to get it apart). So now the question is, do I rebuild it or scrap it? What is a 2hp witte in running unrestored condition valued at and what is it when it is all restored and put on a skid? Trying to see if I can justify it to myself to rebuild since I will have to sleeve, drill some studs, new wrist pin and maybe new rod.

Thanks.
Pat

Find a copy of "Gas Engine Magazine",(hard to find at a news stand..Google: Gas engine magazine)
Back issues available, or complete years on CD
Lots of engine info, including WITTE.
Lots of ads for parts venders!

Like anyone who has a Witte engine or generator, I am looking for parts. In this case I am looking for a exhaust valve rocker, compression release assembly and crank for a Model BD. I don't have the serial number (yet, it is all kinda dirty/rusty) but know that it was manufactured in the late '40s I tried Arrow Engine, but these kind of parts are all listed as obsolete. I used this engine/generator as my sole source of power back in the '80s, but it has been in the weather or garage for the past 25 years. I would like to restore it to be used as backup power.

I have the same engine that you have there,Mine has a good bore and piston but some one took it apart before me and I need a lot of parts. If you decide to get rid of it maybe we could work something out
