Buda diesel injector pump timing

I posted this on Tractor Talk, but maybe I'll have better luck over here. We have a Buda 6DT-468 on our sawmill. I have to remove the injector pump to replace a leaking freeze plug. Does anyone know how these pumps (American Bosch) are timed so I don't lose the timing when I remove the pump? I have a manual on order, but I don't know if this info is in it.

Well, if it is gear to gear, just add your own 'witness' marks where it is when you take it apart-replace as same. If otherwise (chain etc.) do the same and take some pictures and notes. HTH

I would think they are timed like the oliver engines that use the same style pumps and lavona heads.Basicly you remove the window on the side (2 small bolts)and turn the engine so all the correct marks line up then remove the pump.

A little late, but if you're still looking for timing info on the Bosch I have an apparently 1950 factory manual that includes yours...
Timing (fuel) section has :
Timing Fuel Inj Pump (Bosch) Port closing---Flange Mounted---(not too long to email);
Timimg Bosch Fuel Pump---Port Opening, Base Mounted (shorter);
Timing By OverFlow Method---Port Opening Pump---(long, can try emailing pix);
Port Closing Pump--another paragraph continuation of the Overflow Method.
If your manual not factory, and you'd like this one, $5 plus media mail mailing, probably another three or so. This is printed "Bulletin # 1427A, 8x11, 68 pgs, some illus, covers 415, 468, 496 std and turbo diesels, automotive and industrial.
