Howdy guys. This is what I believe to be a McCormick-Deering 'LB'. Yes/ no ? Any help appreciated. The previous owner put new rings and valves in it. Starts and runs fine. What's it worth ? No serial plate. Bob

LB and LA engines are not hit and miss. They are throttle goverened. Any engine having linkage to the carb is throttle goverened. On the LA LB engines this linkage is internal to the engine.

Look on ebay under hit and miss engines. You can see a picture of one there probably. The LB has automatic valve oiler. You have to manually oil the LA. Worth $ 200 to 400 depending on condition.

Thanks. Still not sure about the 'hit and miss' thing.
