Air cooled. Tag says, model 18-5, 2 1/2 HP @ 1800 RPM. Made for FM by Onan Co. Has straight 1" x 3" crank shaft. It has about 60 psi compression and the mag works. The carburetor and air cleaner are missing. Any info about age, application, or parts would be welcome. Thanks.

Hi, Billy. Thanks for the interest. The engine is a model 18-5, serial 35.226457. It has the distintive Onan fan/flywheel. The label says it was made for Fairbanks Morse. Not an FM magnito. I think it's pretty old, with a 2 1/2 hp @1800rpm rating and the crankcase is about triple the size you'd expect on a newer engine. It has a straight output shaft and no mounting holes on the rear of the crankcase, so it must have been used on some belt drive application.

Going to need model and serial number. Or some pictures. Onan made quite a few for them.

Onan tech since 1980.
