Model 1600 clinton engine

Use a electronic ignition conversion chip like the STENS Mega-Fire unit. It replaces both the points and condenser. I have a 1620 on an air compressor that when the points were out this is what I am going to do.

Easiest place to buy them is at NAPA. Just match them up with their small-engine picuture parts book. Clinon used REPCO igntion parts, just like many other small engines and chain saws (REPCO is R.E. Phelon Co.) Kohler, Tecumseh, Homelite, Jacobsen, Onan, Cushman, etc. all use them.

Some Clintons use Tecumseh points and condensors - Tecuseh #s 30547A (points) and 30547B (condensor)

NAPA #s for Clinton points:
18-5153, 7-01024

NAPA #s for Clinton condensors:
7-01318, 7-01324, 7-01325, 7-01326, 7-01327, etc.

anyone out there looking for n.o.s. clinton parts I have a small stock pile of them for sale. Having the part # of what you need will speed things up.Really fast moving parts may be gone already. These came from a dealer who closed up in 1985.Got a small amount of jacobson parts too.Bill M.
