wisconsin TFD flywheel/ fan

hello, i got a new holland 66 with a wisconsin engine on it for free the other day, im just now getting it apart. does anyone have any tips for getting the flywheel off. since its sitting inside that shroud its hard to get to. i dont have a puller that fits that thing either

Per the Wisconsin Owners/Parts Manual:
Remove the guard or screen, it should be held on
by 3 or 4, 1/4 stove bolts, screws. Loosten the
large nut holding the flywheel on, it is probably
1-7/16, but varies, and could be 1-3/8, or even
some other size. Wisconsin wasn't consittant on
that, and it varies if the wngine was crank or
electric start. If it's a crank start, you'll
probably have to drive out the round or roll pin
that the crank engages, or your socket won't fit.
You'll probably need a DEEP six point socket.
OK.. loosten the nut,(an air impact works good),
back it out about halfway. Holding the top of the
flywheel with one hand WACK the nut with a heavy
hammer..the flywheel should come loose. If it
doesn't..hit it again. Note ! !, I use a solid
copper hammer, or Hold a tough chunk of OAK
against the nut, and hit the oak..or you could
mushroom the nut or damage threads, (might need another person to help if you're using a wood
block.
You should reall get a service and parts manual
if you're going to work on these motors..because
all of the procedures are in there.. and if you
follow them you won't break stuff when taking it
apart. Jensales, at www.external_link, has most
every parts and service manual for Wisconsin.
Parts such as Head gaskets, complete gasket sets,
valves,piston rings, fuel pumps, carb kits, are
available from NAPA auto parts. Magneto parts,for
Fairbanks-Morse, or Wico Magnetos, are available
from many sources..points and condensers from
NAPA, including this, Y/T, website under parts..
..but you must know what you are looking for..
your specific part number may not be listed, but
many magneto condensers and points interchange.
