Continental engine part needed

I have a single cylinder Continental engine, model AU7. I need a magneto for it. Mine has a Wico, but there are four different brands listed in the shop manual that were standard equipment for this engine. Does anybody out there have one or could tell me where to find one? How about more modern ignition systems that could be adapted to this engine. Kind of a cute little engine. Hate to junk it because of no spark. Thanks..........Greg

If nothing usable turns up here, try running the archives and the archives on smokstak; there"ve been a number of AU7 and AU8 posts there, and another owner there may be able to advise you.
Older Continental sources are Garrad (Jerry) Moon at Monte"s in Chicago, and P A Ross Machinery in Dallas, but I don"t know if they have stuff for the little air-cooleds

Thanks for your reply and the information. I will start at the suggested places and see what happens.........Greg

I have always used P A Ross. You would be amazed at what they can find. Had a guy call me from NASA. Said he had been looking for two years for some parts. No one could find them. Called Ross and the guy from NASA had is parts in three days.

Parts are redaly available for Wico magnetos.
NAPA has points and condensers for common models
but the parts counter guys usually don't know
that, so you have to tell them what you need.
Whats your model number..maybe some of us her
can help.
