I am looking to locate a good used replacement engine or maybe one I could use to make 1 good one out of 2 engines .

I did a search on this site and found a reader back on 11-03-2003 ( Charles ) who had this same set up as I do , ( this engine mounted to a Marlow irrigation pump ) and I also found out this engine was put in some of the Holman Howden air compressors back in the 1960's time frame. Might be also in some Atlas Copco compressors also ?

I checked out info on some of the Fordson Major engines and they are close to being the same but are not compatable from what I've found. It must be something about it being INDUSTRIAL that sets them apart.

Would any of ya know the best places to try and locate one would be ?

I am located in southern Maine and would be interested in finding a good replacment engine.

Thanks a bunch ,

When I was working for a Kubota dealer we replaced an engine on a old Ford powered water pump used at a mine cleanup site and I am sure we got the engine through a New Holland dealer who ordered a complete reman engine from SRC (Springfield Remanufacturing company)
We had to order it through a New holland dealer because we could not order direct from SRC.

It was a 4 cylinder counterbalanced diesel. Built for Industrial use. A Fairly common old Industrial application.

Thanks Haywood , I did give them a call and left a message if I don"t have any luck with a reply I have a New Holland dealer less than an hour away and I"ll try through them.

What is the easiest way to tell the horsepower of my engine .
