No other forum is like the Classic View so that's not surprising. It's based on software from the 90s. What you have happen would not happen on the Modern View either.
There is a screen that comes out when you finish the post (after pressing the post button). It says something like Message Added... with a link at the bottom to return to the forum. Waiting until the message is displayed or clicking the link in that message, won't duplicate the post. Hitting a back arrow/button of the browser will because that returns to the screen that was posting the message and posts it again. Attempting to do that multiple times will generate a copy of the post for each press back if there is a slight delay. Are you pressing the back button of your browser at that point? If so, it will most often repost the same post.

I just had another thought, do you use the back arrow to get back to the forums or let the screen take you back to your post and then press "show entire topic" or "return to forum". The back arrow of the browser will repost the same post over again.

I immediately leave the topic because I found out years ago that going back makes for double posts..I've posted on here for years and it just recently started doing double and triple posts but not all the time..Its got to be something in our computer but it doesnt do it at other forums..

Are you pressing the button on the form or pressing the Enter Key to complete the post?

I just noticed I never posted my response to you. I had one prepared but must have taken off on an emergency.
I think you must be getting a key bounce on the Enter key. Try using the mouse click on the Submit button to finalize the post and see if that doesn't correct the problem.

We don't have the Enter key set up to complete the post intentionally, so your browser is just defaulting it to press the visual button on the form. Why it's causing a bounce though, I'm not really sure.
