Hey folks,
I do most of my stuff on here with a german keyboard that has a couple other symbols/letters than normal.... several times, I type out a long reply (a big deal for a 2 finger guy  ), and hit preview or submit just to get a message that I used an unaccepted symbol (because of stubby fingers)... Is it possible to open up to these other symbols, or at least, make the site a little more tolerant and allow you to go "back" and fix the mistake without wiping the whole reply out?
Thanks, Dave |

| Thanks, that was it.
I've changed it so if you have posted a few times on YT, it allows the non-english character sets (or for that matter, math character sets, etc). That is for Modern View. On Classic view, it puts out an error message and offers the edit button to go back and edit the post.
The subject line will still reject on extended characters. The reason I left that in, is that if the post gets in and the person sees the bad character, they will edit the subject line. If they were the original thread starter, that will cause all subsequent posts on classic to be disconnected from that thread. |

| Do me a favor and try to put one of those in a post now, then see if it goes through. I'm trying to establish which check is catching you. If I've got the right spot, I'll reenable the check and fix it so it only catches spammers. Let me know soon because we may get several spam posts while it's open.
Thanks,
Chris |

| I think just overriding the entire check for regular YT users would be the simplest thing. This is always modern view isn't it? Classic has the same check but it puts out an error message. |

The backbutton loses everything..... The characters are few. When I get some more time, I'll put them together for you... Have to email them tho.....
I think there are only 3 that are my problem... A, U, and O with the two dots over them... May be more, but those three are next to common letters and get caught by fat fingers..... |

| It catches those other character sets because of the spam posts you see that are full of gibberish, it stops them. If you can tell me some specific characters, I could allow them like an override, but from the description, it doesn't sound like you are going to know in advance?
Does your back arrow on the browser lose the content?
Edit: One thing I might be able to do is override the check if the post count is high. Hadn't thought of that. I'll look at that.
