There are a couple of extreme cases of this in today's TT discussions re: "Higgs boson" and "trucks" (both classic & modern). Is it possible to restrict the page width (both pix and text) so we don't spend more time scrolling horizontally than we do vertically? Some sites use thumbnail pix which can be magnified at the users discretion, would this be an option (and save bandwidth)? I'll be putting this in and announcing it today. If it hurts the nice photos that some of our more artistic users post, we may have to do some tweaking. Initially it will only work for classic, takes a little more for modern view. This is sort of a first shot at stemming the leak, putting in a thumbnails type solution will take a lot of testing because it isn't too compatible across all browsers. I didn't put that program in yet, it got late in the day and I don't like putting one of the most used programs in just before evening. Sunday and Monday evenings are the busiest times on the site. I'll think about thumbnailing off-site photos. It won't happen if they use our repository. [Reply]  [No Email]
