2810 Ford hydraulic leak on gear shifts boots

We are talking about a 80 s model 2810, correct?
That model has the hydraulic pump mounted in the right side axle housing with no piping running thru the transmission case

Is it spraying out or just leaking out
To much fluid or water contamination can cause the fluid to foam up and leak out around the shifters and other areas

Pull the check plug on the right side and see if it s over full, if it is let it drain down to the correct level
If the fluid is milky looking remove the bottom drain plug and completely drain the trans, then refill to proper level with fresh fluid
