Is your power take off in gear? The Majors hydraulic pump is driven off the PTO. I can't think of a reason that just changing the oil in
the differential/hydraulic sump would cause the hydraulics to fail.

We are brand new to tractors so excuse my ignorance here, but when we purchased it the guy was showing us how to use it, on the left side while sitting on the tractor, we need to pull this lever back, and also turn around and move another lever to get the pto going....do i need these both engaged and the pto turning for this to work?

UPDATE you were right , pulled back front lever now it is moving up and down...THANKS..

The pto lever is on the left side, just ahead of your foot. Are you referring to a lever that is on a gearbox that the pto shaft comes out
of? If so, that was an accessory gearbox. I was aware of them, but only saw one or two in my years at the tractor shop.

Well i thought we had it fixed, we did as u said and it all worked yesterday....started mowing today and now we r back to where we were.....it wont lift up. We started out mowing and the arms were working....although we noticed they would not hold their position....kept dropping...then they quit working completely....any thoughts?
